CTRWA June Meeting
June 8, 2019
11AM-4PM
Four Points Sheraton, 275 Research Parkway
Meriden, CT
11:00 a.m. - Business Meeting
11:30 AM Craft Corner: Corrina Lawson: Conference Preparation Tips: How to get the most out of a writing conference or large event
1PM Session: 1: Jane Haertel: Secrets and Searches: The Element of Mystery No matter the genre, a character in search of something always makes for a good story—be it the truth behind a ruby brooch hidden in an old desk, the identity of a killer, or a forgotten incident long ago that shapes who she is now. A mystery element can become a roadmap for moving the external plot along. More important, if it’s done well, the success or failure of the search can and should shape the character arc at the same time. Be prepared to analyze your own WIP for existing and potential mysteries.
2 PM Session: 2: Jamie Schmidt: KDP ROI, Rocket, KDP SPY: using these self publishing tools to do market research and improve your marketing.
